As the total household population for most Orange County cities has increased over the years, the average household size has dipped by just under 3.3%, from a 2.8% countywide average in 1980 to a 2.7% average in 1987.

According to the U. S. Bureau of the Census, a household “includes all the persons who occupy a housing unit.”
