An official of the Lynwood Unified School District was arrested Thursday on suspicion of embezzlement, receiving stolen property and conflict of interest.

Commodore Reid, 53, the director of maintenance, operations and transportation, allegedly had school employees renovate and repair his personal property while they were on duty, had a district water heater installed on property that he owned and got a $15,500 loan from a vendor who was doing business with the district.

Reid surrendered at the Lynwood sheriff’s station after a warrant was issued accusing him of 10 counts of embezzlement, one count of receiving stolen property and one count of conflict of interest, according to Deputy Dist. Atty. Herb Lapin.
