San Diego
A pipe bomb was found on the golf course of the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club on Thursday, San Diego Police Department spokesman Bill Robinson said.
An employee at the golf course found the device at 1:30 p.m. and took it to the manager’s office, 2000 Spindrift Drive.
The pipe bomb--1 inch in diameter and six inches long--was wrapped with aluminum tape and had a long green fuse on one end, Robinson said, adding that the San Diego Fire and Explosives Team X-rayed the bomb and took it to Fiesta Island, where it was detonated.
