Local News in Brief : Huntington Beach : Students Take Part in Government Day

More than 130 high school students participated Thursday in the city’s annual Youth in Government Day.
The students--from Huntington Beach, Marina, Oceanview and Wintersburg high schools in the Huntington Beach Union High School District--spent half the day learning about career opportunities, the duties of various workers and the education and training required for City Hall jobs.
After lunch, they got a taste of politics. The students conducted a City Council meeting, addressing issues pertaining to youth in the community.
