Local News in Brief : Brea : Fire Hazard Areas to Remain Off Limits
- Share via
Areas closed as brush fire hazards last week will remain off limits to the public until there has been enough rain to reduce the danger, Brea Fire Chief Jerry McDowell said.
Portions of the area east of Valencia Avenue and north of Rose Drive will remain closed. Maps showing the boundaries of the affected areas are available from the Brea Fire Department.
The closure does not restrict homeowners or their guests from using their property. Rather, it is intended for trespassers, who are often the cause of brush fires.
Information on how to protect property in a fire is available from the Fire Department, (714) 990-7622.
