Two men suspected in two holdups in the past week robbed a Thrifty drug store in Canyon Country on Sunday morning, authorities said.
The robbers, who wore baseball caps and appeared to be in their mid-30s, entered the store at 16642 Soledad Canyon Road shortly after 9 a.m., Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Wells said. They escaped with about $100, he said. “They waited in line at the store and, instead of making a purchase, made a withdrawal,” Wells said.
One man was brandishing what appeared to be a .45-caliber automatic handgun when he demanded money, Wells said. No shots were fired and there were no injuries.
After the clerk turned over the money, the two men ran from the store and drove off in a black El Camino, Wells said.
The men and the car matched the descriptions given in two other robberies reported in the past week, Wells said. One incident was in La Crescenta, the other in Canyon Country, he said.
