Transients’ Deaths Investigated

The Sheriff’s Department announced today that it is investigating the deaths of five male transients whose bodies have been found shot and discarded in the city of Bell since December.
The bodies of the two most recent victims were found Sunday along a railroad right-of-way near the intersection of Pine Avenue and Randolph Street, Sheriff’s Deputy Kathryn Nielsen said. One man was identified as Jack Leonard Horn, 62. The name of the other was withheld pending notification of family. “Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the fact that there are similarities in all of these cases,” Nielsen said. “All were transients, all were shot to death and all were found in Bell.”
