A spokeswoman for the Writers Guild of America said the guild called mass membership meetings for Wednesday in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium, and Thursday in New York at the Warwick Hotel. The meetings don’t represent a breakthrough in the six-week-old strike, the spokeswoman said. Members are expected to get information, and to discuss possible independent contracts with some movie and TV producers.
