Local News in Brief : Minority Panelists Urged
A Los Angeles City Council panel recommended Tuesday that Mayor Tom Bradley appoint more people from minority areas and the San Fernando Valley to city commissions dominated by members from the Westside.

“I don’t think it’s balanced the way it is now,” said Bernson, a committee member.
Bernson proposed the formula four years ago, saying his San Fernando Valley district and other valley districts were under-represented on city commissions.
