Stevens Rides Integra to a 6 1/2-Length Victory in Santa Lucia

Gary Stevens coaxed Integra into the lead shortly after the start and she coasted to a 6 1/2-length victory in the $79,400 Santa Lucia Handicap Saturday before a crowd of 37,796 at Santa Anita.

Integra, who carried low weight of 115 pounds, was clocked in 1:43 for the 1 1/16-mile race for fillies and mares. The victory was worth $45,650, and the 4-year-old Kentucky-bred filly paid $7, $4.60 and $3.40.

Behind the Scenes, with Rafael Meza and co-high weight of 118 pounds, finished 2 3/4 lengths ahead of Fairly Old and paid $4 and $3.20.

Fairly Old, under Alan Patterson and 117 pounds, was seven lengths better than favored Joni U Bar and paid $3.60 to show.
