Italian fashion house Guccio Gucci said that U.S. investment bank Morgan Stanley Group Inc. had built a 47.7% stake in the Italian company on behalf of an unidentified client. Gucci President Maria Martellini said Morgan Stanley bought a 44.4% interest from two Gucci family members, brothers Giorgio and Roberto Gucci, adding to a 3.3% stake acquired in November. Together, the brothers own 46% of the company. Morgan Stanley acquired the stake in the privately held company for an unidentified client at an undisclosed price, she said.
