Los Angeles County health officials reported 197 new cases of AIDS during the month of March and noted a slight rise in the percentage of Latinos with the disease, Supervisor Ed Edelman said Monday.

That figure for Latinos afflicted with AIDS represented an increase from the February statistics, when Latinos accounted for 15% of the county AIDS victims. In comparison, blacks make up 14% of the county AIDS population while Anglos comprise 68% of the AIDS cases. Asians and other ethnic groups account for the remaining 2%.
