Suspect in Robbery Eludes SWAT Team
Sheriff’s deputies surrounded a South-Central Los Angeles area apartment complex, where a suspected armed robber was believed to be holed up with his 18-month-old niece Wednesday, but officers found the suspect had fled after they were able to coax the child outside, authorities said.
Shortly before 2 p.m., deputies said, Lawrence Minor, 34, fled from a market on South Western Avenue after taking $400 at gunpoint.
Witnesses said they saw Minor run to the apartment complex near 107th Street and Western in an unincorporated area of the county.
