Weekend TV Sports Rundown
While the average viewer can relax come Sunday, it will be anything but a day of rest for pro football teams as the National Football League Draft gets under way at New York.
In a live, seven-hour telecast starting at 9 a.m., ESPN will cover the selections from the Marriott Marquis Hotel with host Chris Berman. It will feature highlights, interviews, scouting reports and analysis by Pete Axthelm and former Denver Bronco Tom Jackson.
Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants will play ball in Candlestick Park Sunday at 1 p.m. (11).
Closer to home, the California Angels host the Seattle Mariners tonight at 7 on Z cable.
For those who may have been out of town--or on the scene--last weekend, KABC-TV will carry a tape of the CART Grand Prix of Long Beach today at 12:30 p.m. (7).
