Fund-Raiser Set for Sailing Team

The Westlake Yacht Club is holding a fund-raiser today for Olympic sailing hopefuls Lynne Jewell and Allison Jolly, whose sailboat was severely damaged in a mishap off the Florida coast three months ago.

Jewell and Jolly, the country’s No. 1 women’s team last year, hope to raise $10,000 for a new 470-class boat in time for the U. S. Olympic team qualifying trials July 2-17 at Newport, R. I.

Jewell and Jolly will present a slide show on sailing and a fully rigged 470 boat will be on display. The event is open to the public and will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. at the club at 32123 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village.
