‘Line 1’
West Germany, 1987, 99 minutes
8 p.m . Alternately biting and corny, this West German musical deals in a determinedly jaunty way with life and death, success and failure and the struggle to survive. The setting--an U-Bahn station--finds a pretty small-town girl receiving her introduction to big, bad Berlin. Very energetic, largely entertaining and strongly influenced by Broadway musicals.
