Plumpsters who like exercise videos, but not their svelte stars, take heart. Sharlyne Powell and Sharon McConnell are overweight-but-upbeat stars in “Women at Large,” a video aerobics program for overweight women. The 50-minute workout is accompanied by a 12-page illustrated book, complete with an introduction to a line of leotards that fit women up to 450 pounds. The cassette features nine women, weighing from 175 to 250 pounds, demonstrating the exercises especially designed for heavyweights. As Powell says, “How can a really heavy woman relate to videotapes offering Raquel Welch, Jane Fonda and Victoria Principal?”
