Bank of New York Co. said it extended until Wednesday its $1-billion-plus hostile offer for Irving Bank Corp., and said it will not hold any more merger talks with Irving because the bank “never intended to negotiate seriously” . . . Campeau Corp. has secured a $1-billion loan from New York-based Citibank for its $73.50 a share tender offer for Federated Department Stores, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing . . . Los Angeles-based Kaufman & Broad’s Sun Life Insurance Co. of America has agreed to sell its home service division to Durham Life Insurance Co., Raleigh, N.C.
