Downey : 3 Sign Violations Dropped

Share

Downey has dismissed misdemeanor criminal charges against three of six businesses accused of violating the city’s sign ordinance. Charges against Circus Auto Sales, Premium Truck & Auto Sales and Tabbert’s Appliances were dropped last week and earlier this week after the businesses removed the offending signs, City Prosecutor Martin J. Mayer said. The city ordinance regulates the size and types of signs in Downey.

The city on April 6 charged those businesses and three others for various violations of the sign ordinance, ranging from unlawful pole banners to excessive wall signs.

Misdemeanor charges remain against Paramount Chevrolet, GSA Auto Mart and Jim’s U-Save Auto Rentals & Sales, Mayer said.
