According to Jenkins, the woman, whose name was not released, was entering her home just after midnight, when a man brandishing a revolver approached her and tried to take her purse. The woman screamed and resisted the man, who then drove away in a car parked nearby.

The woman described the man’s car to police, who spotted it in the area and arrested its driver, identified later as Davis, Jenkins said.
