Local News in Brief : Pacoima Man Found Shot to Death on Street
A 22-year-old man was shot to death on a Pacoima street Tuesday in what Los Angeles police said may have been a gang-related slaying.
Vance Lamont Collins, of Pacoima, was found face down on the pavement in the 11200 block of Borden Avenue, about a block east of Van Nuys Boulevard, at 2:45 a.m., police said. Collins had been shot in the upper body and was dead at the scene.
No arrests had been made and there were no suspects in the killing, police said.
Though they had found no links between Collins and any street gangs, police said preliminary indications were that, because it appeared to be a drive-by shooting, it was gang-related.
