In response to the increased purchasing clout of health maintenance organizations in Southern California, Abbott Laboratories recently appointed a representative in Dana Point to market their special needs.

Carol Landry has been appointed national accounts executive for the newly formed Managed Health Care unit of the pharmaceutical products division of Abbott Laboratories, a Chicago-based health care products corporation. Landry, who has worked for Abbott Laboratories for 11 years, previously was Southern California district manager.

Richard Haiduck, director of Managed Health Care’s national accounts, said that Landry is strategically located within close proximity to some of the country’s largest national health maintenance organizations, including Maxicare, Kaiser and Cigna in Los Angeles and FHP in Fountain Valley. He said Landry’s sales territory ranges as far north as Washington state and as far east as Arizona.
