WASHINGTON —
Fire broke out Thursday in the Capitol Hill office of House Speaker Jim Wright (D-Tex.), but no injuries were reported, officials said.
“The Speaker’s office is pretty much burned out. There’s a lot of heat damage,” said Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Pa.), a former fire chief.
Wright’s primary office as House Speaker is in the Capitol. The office where the fire occurred primarily handles his congressional district business.
