Criticism of Conrad
It is sad to read the letters in response to Conrad’s cartoon. As always the pro-Israel extremists become enraged at any criticism of Israel regardless of its validity, attacking it as “vicious, libelous, incendiary anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic.”
Personally, I find much truth in Conrad’s position. It will be very difficult to find any Palestinians willing to talk peace as long as Israeli soldiers continue to beat and kill protesters on a daily basis. There seems nothing “distorted and inaccurate” in this assessment. If I were a Palestinian or even a Palestinian sympathizer, I would probably be thinking of revenge rather than peace as I read of the continual carnage by Israeli troops in the occupied territories.
