Kentucky’s Chapman Says He Will Turn Pro
Kentucky guard Rex Chapman, who only last month indicated that he would remain in school, said Friday that he will forgo his final two years of eligibility and make himself available to the National Basketball Assn.
“It’s strictly a business decision,” Chapman said from his home in Owensboro, Ky.
Chapman said his decision was not influenced by an investigation into alleged recruiting violations at Kentucky by the National Collegiate Athletic Assn.
The NBA’s deadline for underclassmen declaring for the June 28 draft is midnight tonight.
