Moe Named NBA Coach of Year
Doug Moe, who guided the Denver Nuggets to the Midwest Division title and their best record since entering the NBA in 1976, was named the league’s Coach of the Year today. Moe received 41 of 80 votes from a national panel of media members.
Pat Riley, who coached the Los Angeles Lakers to a league-best record of 62-20, finished second with 25 votes. Doug Collins of Chicago and Mike Schuler of Portland tied for third with five votes apiece. Riley was coach of the year last year.
