The members of Van Halen have asked attorneys to file a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against Foxboro, Mass., whose city selectmen recently voted to bar the group from performing at the city’s Sullivan Stadium in June. The suit seeks damages for the violation of the group’s First Amendment rights. “We resent the implication that hard-rock fans are more prone to disruptive behavior than fans of other musical groups who are regularly permitted to perform at (the stadium),” group members Eddie and Alex Van Halen, Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony said in statement released Monday. The group’s “Monsters of Rock Tour” starts later this month.
