Local News in Brief : Fund-Raiser for Hospice
- Share via
Friends of Hospice, a support group for San Pedro Peninsula Hospital’s hospice program, raised more than $50,000 at a Rolling Hills wine tasting and auction attended by 150 people.
The event also honored Robert Lawrence Balzer, Los Angeles Times Magazine wine critic.
The money will benefit the hospice program, which cares for terminally ill patients and their families in their homes. Begun in 1977, the program has served more than 1,000 families, the hospital said.
