Now, Instead of Players, There Are Only Workers
Will somebody please tell Vinnie, Ross and Don they are all fine announcers, but they diminish the spirit of baseball with the prevalent use of the word work . I’m tired of hearing that Jesse Orosco hasn’t “worked” in five days. Whatever happened to playing the game?
When Don Sutton gets relieved in the fifth, he has concluded 4 innings of play, not work. This is a game, not a factory. If this keeps up, soon the organist is going to work the national anthem and we’ll hear the umpire yell out, “Let’s get to work!”
