4 Elephants Electrocuted

DHAKA, Bangladesh —
Four wild elephants have been electrocuted over the past month while rampaging through banana plantations or feeding in rice fields in southern Bangladesh, officials said Monday. It is believed that villagers often put up electric fencing illegally around their fields to save crops from wild elephants and boars, the officials added.
