Slow-Growth Initiative and Home Costs, Traffic

Share

Can we believe the opponents of Measure A in Orange County? They say it will cost us over $1 billion. It does not increase taxes or impose any fees. It does not mandate any expenditures. Where is the cost?

Measure A has one basic requirement. It requires that, before high-density construction can be started, our roads and other services must be adequate to handle the increased needs caused by the construction.

When the opponents say Measure A will put more cars on our roads, it appears that they think we are morons. The number of cars added to our roads with Measure A is a small percentage of the ones that will be added without it.

Measure A will slow the increase in traffic to give us an opportunity to improve our road system so it can cope with the traffic. Without Measure A, we can expect to spend more and more time at a standstill on our roads.
