In a testy session in a lawyer’s office in Alexandria, Va., Fawn Hall, the former secretary to then-Marine Lt. Col. Oliver L. North, since fired as National Security Council aide, delivered a deposition as part of a civil lawsuit in which a liberal policy group has charged that several Iran-Contra figures were involved in drug dealing. Hall, who is not a defendant, denied knowing several people involved in the suit and denied knowing about or said she had forgotten details of several meetings and documents on which she was questioned. The suit was filed by the Christic Institute on behalf of two American journalists who say one of them was injured in a bomb blast at a 1986 news conference in Nicaragua by former Contra leader Eden Pastora.
