National Technical Shows Increase in 1st Quarter

National Technical Systems earned $338,000, or 6 cents a share, in the first quarter that ended April 30, up 24% from $272,000, or 5 cents a share, earned a year earlier. Sales rose 45% to $8.6 million from $5.9 million in the year-earlier period.

The Calabasas engineering services and environmental testing company attributed the results to growth in its engineering division.
