Paul Holmgren, 32, a former player and now an assistant coach with the Flyers, will become the next coach of the Philadelphia hockey team, according to a source close to club. The club will make the announcement today, according to several broadcast reports.
Holmgren, a rugged right winger with the Flyers from 1975 to 1984, had 138 goals and 171 assists to rank 12th on the club’s all-time scoring list.
