After months of negotiations, one of San Diego’s largest and oldest ad firms, Phillips-Ramsey Advertising, has been sold to the New York based ad agency, McCann-Erickson Worldwide. Terms of the sale were not disclosed by either company. Dick Brooks, president of Phillips-Ramsey, said the Phillips-Ramsey name will not change immediately, nor will the sale result in management changes. Phillips-Ramsey, with annual billings of $52 million, is best-known for the advertising it has created for two decades for the San Diego Zoo.
