Downey : Campaign Spending Report

Barbara J. Hayden has outspent nine other candidates in the race for three Downey City Council seats to be filled in Tuesday’s primary election, according to campaign disclosure statements filed last week.

Hayden has raised $18,326 and spent $10,831 in her campaign for the District 5 seat held by James S. Santangelo. Santangelo has raised $13,549 and spent $8,376.

Other candidates in District 5 are Joel Lubin, who raised $5,982 and spent $3,186; Douglas Creek, who raised $2,627 and spent $2,346; and Thomas Hartsfield, who said he will raise and spend less than $1,000 in the campaign.

In District 1, incumbent Diane P. Boggs has raised $9,244 and spent $6,480. John Drayer raised $3,044 and spent $1,420, and Gregg Martell said he will raise and spend less than $1,000.

In District 3, incumbent Robert G. Cormack has a campaign debt after having raised $3,964 and spent $4,828. His challenger, former Councilman Ken Miller, has raised $3,615 and spent $3,190.
