Pepperdine University’s baseball coach, Dave Gorrie, whose team had a 37-24-1 record and won its fifth consecutive West Coast Athletic Conference title this season, resigned a day after the Waves’ loss to Arizona State in the NCAA West II Regional final.
Gorrie had a record of 409-202 in 10 years on the job and took the Waves to the NCAA tournament six times. A college coach for 29 years, Gorrie’s overall record was 764-599.
“I felt it was time to step aside,” Gorrie said.
No successor has been hired.
