Woodfin, Fiacco, Magnante Drafted
Olonzo Woodfin of Sylmar High and Charlie Fiacco and Mike Magnante of UCLA were selected Wednesday in Major League Baseball’s free-agent draft.
None of the players were first-round choices, and first-round choices only were announced to the media. No other selections are made public until June 9.
Woodfin, a left-handed pitcher, said he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the eighth round.
Magnante, a senior left-handed pitcher who attended Burroughs High, said he was chosen by the Kansas City Royals in the 11th round. Fiacco, a junior outfielder from Camarillo High, said he was taken by the Milwaukee Brewers.
