National Lumber & Supply, the Fountain Valley-based do-it-yourself home improvement chain, reported net income of $66,864 for the first quarter of its fiscal 1989. Because of a change in accounting procedures, the net income figure for the first quarter of last fiscal year was restated from $60,126 to $310,126. Net sales for the period ended April 30 were flat at $38.1 million, compared to the year-earlier quarter.
