El Toro’s Bret Johnson Selected Player of Year

Bret Johnson, El Toro High School quarterback, was honored as the county player of the year Friday night at a dinner at the Saddleback Inn paying tribute to the selections for the 29th Orange County All-Star football game.

Johnson led the Chargers to two consecutive Southern Conference football championships and didn’t lose a game he started over two years. The award was sponsored by the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn.
