Hollywood, it seems, is determined on self-destruction.
The recently advertised cost for a seat in a theater, now being at $6.50, is beyond the realm of reason, even for the late 1980s.
Granted, salaries are higher than in the days that you could take the whole family to a movie on Saturday night, and even perhaps win a basket of groceries.
However, salaries are not commensurate in proportion to the cost of attending today’s movie.
The increased cost of movies will force the people to stay home, invest in and utilize a VCR with rental of movies. For example, let’s say that two couples desire to attend a theater for one of the new movies. This results in:
