Measure A Sparks Debate Over Growth and County’s Future

Share

A newspaper’s responsibility is to report the truth. Right now, millions of developer dollars are being spent to confuse the electorate about Measure A.

This year we have an election that is being bought by the big checkbook. Nearly $2 million says the truth can be obscured. The Traffic Solution Committee is really the Orange County Misinformation Center--home of the big lie.

The editorial logic of The Times is that Measure A is not going to fix everything, therefore it should not be supported. We have to start somewhere. You seem to think the Orange County Board of Supervisors is going to make responsible decisions if Measure A fails. Recent development agreements only emphasize the desire of the supervisors to give in to the will of their campaign contributors, not the public. The future of our county depends on the passage of Measure A. Orange County people want slow growth.
