Measure A Sparks Debate Over Growth and County’s Future

Share

Measure A should not be passed because of its catchy proposals and misleading representation. The main theme of “traffic control” argued by proponents of the measure does not coincide with what the measure states: “The traffic problems currently affecting the county are not entirely within the county’s control.” I question why they call it a “traffic control initiative?”

Measure A would raise the cost of renting and buying houses throughout the county. Trying to slow the growth of Orange County would raise the prices of housing (supply and demand), which in turn would make more people live outside the county and commute into it to work.

If Measure A is passed, hidden taxes, which would only benefit the unincorporated areas, and higher housing costs would all be inherited by future residents of Orange County. I strongly recommend voting no on Measure A.
