Western Digital has signed a final agreement to acquire Verticom, a Sunnyvale-based computer graphics product maker, in a stock swap valued at $12 million. Completion of the previously announced merger is expected in August, pending the approval of Verticom shareholders. Robert V. Dickinson, Verticom president and chief executive officer, will become a vice president of Western Digital and will continue to head the Verticom operation. Western Digital, headquartered in Irvine, is a manufacturer of a broad range of computer products.
