Rod Stewart has his own hit song on the charts--”Lost in You.” But to hear Simon Climie tell it, Stewart could’ve had another hit on his album, Climie and Rob Fisher’s “Love Changes Everything.” When Stewart passed on the song, Simon recorded it himself--and the Climie Fisher version is now zipping up the charts (though Rod did cut another Climie tune, “My Heart Can’t Tell You No,” which Robert Palmer sent his way). The irony here is that the biggest rock-crit complaint about Climie Fisher is that Simon’s voice, wonderful as it is, sounds a bit too much like--you guessed it--the even more-wonderful rasp of Rod Stewart. And wait, there’s more. Climie Fisher is managed by Dee Harrington, who many, many years ago lived with-- whew-- Rod Stewart. . . . Isn’t it enough that Bob Geldof is already a rock star, author and inspiration to a generation? Apparently not. Now Geldof is making his debut as a film director of “Cowboys,” a new movie slated to shoot this fall in Ireland. The film, which Geldof co-wrote, is based on Geldof’s youthful adventures in Dublin. . . . And just so you don’t think the L.A. fire marshals treat celebs any better than rank ‘n’ file fans--we heard that when the Dan Reed Network played the Club Lingerie recently, one of the band’s fans--actress Isabella Rossellini was refused entrance, since the club had reached its official capacity.
