Monterey Park Museum Closed for Remodeling
This city’s historical museum at Garvey Ranch Park may remain closed for remodeling through late August, according to Louise Davis, president of the Monterey Park Historical Society.
The society’s one-room exhibition area is being expanded as part of a $300,000 project the City Council approved earlier this year. The city will also refurbish its observatory and improve restrooms, landscaping and fencing around the museum, which was built in the mid-1940s.
City officials say the observatory will be closed periodically during the project.
