San Francisco attorney James Gaither has been elected president of the Stanford University Board of Trustees. Gaither, managing partner of Cooley Godward Castro Huddleson & Tatum, succeeds Los Angeles attorney Warren Christopher. Gaither has been vice president of the trustees since 1984 and is chairman of its Investment Committee. He has been a Stanford trustee for six years, serving on nearly every board committee. Gaither is a graduate of Princeton and Stanford Law School.
