A Navy satellite designed to help sailors pinpoint their locations at sea was launched into orbit from Vandenberg Air Force Base, officials said. “We had a successful launch, and everything looks good so far,” base spokesman Capt. John Sullivan said. The launch of the 383-pound NOVA 2 navigational satellite aboard a 73-foot Scout rocket was the first space launch from the Santa Barbara County base since April 26.
