The National Collegiate Athletic Assn.’s official letter of inquiry into the University of Oklahoma football program details 16 alleged infractions, most of them involving recruiting, according to a summary of the letter released by the school.

The infractions range from in-house ticket scalping to a $1,000 payment to a recruit to “souvenirs” being given to prospective student-athletes.

Most of the alleged infractions occurred between 1983 and 1986, although some dated to 1981, according to the summary, which did not include names. The NCAA’s letter said that school staff members did not act on all occasions in accordance with NCAA standards.

In response to the alleged violations, Oklahoma Athletic Director Donnie Duncan said: “All NCAA allegations and violations are serious, but if you compare ours to others, I think you get a clear indication that ours is not a willful plan or an intent to gain a competitive edge.”
