ROCK DRUG BUST SHOCK!: Fields of the Nephilim are England’s latest Goth-rock sensations (which means they dress a lot like the Unforgiven). The group emphasizes their resemblance to a bunch of Sergio Leone cowpokes by dousing themselves with flour before they hit the stage (what an act, huh?). Unfortunately, when a cleaning lady found this key concert prop--a bag of flour--lying outside a bandmember’s hotel room after a show in Nottingham, she notified local police, who dragged the group off to jail, where they ran a drug test on the suspicious powder. When results were negative, the group was released, with an apology (and hopefully a good recipe for fried chicken). . . . Our fave outspoken rappers, Public Enemy, are back with a hot new single, “Prophets of Rage,” which is from their upcoming album, “It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.” . . . Blues great Willie Dixon has been in the studio, finishing up a new album with T-Bone Burnett at the production helm. . . . Popular songwriter John Hiatt has been in Nashville, finishing a new album with vet producer Glyn Johns. Why do we say popular? Maybe because Hiatt songs have recently been recorded by Nick Lowe, the Everly Brothers, Emmylou Harris, Marti Jones, Dave Edmunds and (!) Mitch Ryder. . . . And we knew it was too good to be true: KMPC-FM’s Guy (Lombardo) Kemp was suspended and taken off the air earlier this month after bad-mouthing the station’s promotion department. However, he’s apologized and returned Wednesday to his pit-bull perch.
